Lactation Bliss Balls
Helps support lactation, but only if you've just given birth.
If only the partners eating these bliss balls could start lactating too and share the breastfeeding load a little, amirite?? Now that might be blissfull...
What makes these tasty little treats lactation balls as opposed to just general bliss inducing? Well, I'll tell ya....
😋Oats are a Galactagogue - meaning a milk maker. In addition to being relaxing, nutritive and tasty.
😋Sesame and Flax are both Phytoestrogenic and high in Calcium - both Breastmilk makers.
They also pack in some good protein + healthy fat that will sustain blood sugar.
😋Cinnamon balances blood sugar
😋Honey is antibacterial, an antioxidant and can be swapped out for our vegan lactaters.
😋Chocolate is an antioxidant but also essential in anything sweet in my opinion. Makes you feel good.
Just a few shelf stable simple ingredients mixed together - a very quick, very forgiving recipe.
You can eat them one handed - while holding/feeding a baby in the other.
2 cups rolled oats
1 cup chocolate chips
3/4 cup ground flax seeds
1/2 cup hemp hearts
1 cup tahini - sesame butter or other nut or seed butter of your choice
2/3 cup raw honey
1 tsp vanilla
1 tsp cinnamon
Directions - mix all ingredients together, roll into balls with wet hands and put in the freezer to set for a few hours.
Then hand deliver to a new parent you want to support. That's what I did.
Or serve them for a healthy dessert. I do that too.
